I just got back from a nice two week visit to China with UNC's Lab Band 1. The two week tour marked my final performances with the group that I've had the pleasure to perform with for the past four years while getting my Masters and Doctoral Degrees at UNC. It's been a great experience and we've won Downbeat awards for best graduate college ensemble 3 out of the 4 years I've played in the group. I also got to perform with Dana Landry, Erik Applegate, and Kenyon Brenner as part of the UNC Faculty Quartet, so it was fun to pull "double duty." One of the highlights of the trip was meeting music students and music fans, and just interacting with the local Chinese people. Everyone was so nice and welcoming and really enjoyed the music. I've attached a few pictures of some of the people I met as well as some pictures from the trip. | |
